This review of the oral history of St Christopher’s Hospice in London was undertaken in partnership with a colleague from the hospice Revd Dr Andrew Goodhead. Together we reviewed the content of over 70 interviews with a range of individuals who told a story about the history of St Christopher’s. We have identified 10 themes in the history that we think has relevance for the hospice and palliative care sector today and in the future.

This publication, written in 2020 is a depiction of a contemporary model of palliative nursing. It reflects practice alongside the evidence base and proposes a model that reflects current opportunities and challenges in end-of-life care. It has attracted attention across the UK and beyond and serves as a basis for evaluation of nursing services, practice development programmes, learning packages and self-development opportunities for nurses. It is co-authored with senior nurse Marie Cooper

This publication, co-authored with Professor Caroline Nicholson was launched in 2018 as a means of encouraging hospice colleagues to consider their role and contribution to the care of people who live into late old age. It proposes a new approach to their care in the final years of their life, with due attention to clinical, service, system and societal opportunities
